Hullo all

Just bought a bike and aiming to be less of a man than I currently am.. a couple of stone less would be good... I'm from Lancaster (where hills have sprung up overnight it seems) and I've bought an Electra 8 Ball cos it was cheap and made me laugh.. Loving it so far and only 1 crash since friday!.. Hope to chat with some of you soon.

I'm glad your enjoying your cycling now - it will get much better when(if) the weather picks up. -

I've never heard of an Electra 8 ball - but as long as you like it that's all that matters.

You will soon get used to the cuts and bruises, that's just part of the fun watch the pedals on the shins and enjoy your cycling.

or don't be a "proper" cyclist and don't bother with the lycra... wear jeans.. they afford excellent protection against stray pedals...

having said that - they do chafe a little...

Lol - will stick with jeans - not sure me in Lycra isn't an arrestable offence, tis surely an aesthetic crime - anyhow not sure the 8 Ball is 'proper bike' enough for serious gear. Chafing sounds vaguely interesting too...
