Google 'Skyride Local' and stick your postcode in, I'll bet there is a load of rides for all abilities and probably a women only ride or two.

I ride around the Basildon area, just keep an eye out for a little old guy puffing & panting zooming along at a whole 10mph as you whizz past me
I'm just looking at the clouds at the moment, being a fair weather rider it doesn't look too favourable atm.
