Just discovered this site -- between this and Facebook does that cover the major ways for cyclists to connect?

Welcome to CC. It's certainly a good way to share knowledge and friendly banter, but probably not a "major". There are the two major organisations, British Cycling and Cycling UK, both have newsletters and good websites.

I belong to a club as well, and on a local basis, the club's facebook and WhatsApp groups provide info locally.

Welcome to the forum ctw. Plenty of information to be had here on most aspects of cycling. There is a rides section, and the FNRTTC is a good way to meet others.
