Just a quick 1 to say how happy i am that i have just ridden this sportive this morning, 50 miles of riding including some tough hills around mow cop including Gun Hill and the mow cop climb, i forgot it was on 2day and when looking for a ride out last night with the kidsgrove wheelers saw that this was on. Was a bit unsure whether id be able cope with the big hills on my bike(carrera tdf 52/38 12/26) and had visions of being stuck half way up, but mayb not the fastest climbing but with riding with a couple who had done it b4 managed to make it all the way round in an average time of 3hrs 41(stop for drink and biscuit at around 28miles not included in time).the one thing i think i need to brush up on is my descending, may cause im not use to going down country lanes at around 35mph+ it was a little scary sometimes. But all n all it was a cracking day,cracking weather.good group of people who rode it...
