Likewise, I've booked myself and two family members on a ferry/hotel/IOWRandonnee/Hotel/ferry excursion that weekend, otherwise I'd have been up for this.
However, for anyone not on the IoW, I do recommend the Historic Vehicles ride, as it's such an eclectic mix of vehicles. And if you're really lucky, you might spot a vehicle heading towards you with no brakes, or a blown up engine.
Oh dear I used to drive one of those light Morris lorries for Champion Bakeries ... guess that make me historic too ...
The loaders used to stuff excess cakes under the seat which led to some pleasant interludes on the way to M&S deliveries.
All of those drivers were really friendly and they were surprised to see me on madeira drive eating fish n chips
It was a great run down (i forgot to turn on the camera from croydon to crawley so missed loads of lorries) no wind
it actually felt odd, the sun was shinning.............Brighton rocks
Next year it'll be called the No Excuses Commercial Lorry Chase, you've been warned
