Holiday question for March/April 2014

Having just got back from Mallorca, I cant wait to get back.

Would anyone be interested in a week in Mallorca in March/ April next year. I am quite used to organising cheap holidays for myself and I could sort out the accommodation and probably the bikes.

But it would be an everyone chip in type of affair where everyone pays the same amount......not a lot....I am a Yorkshireman.

If anyone is interested, let me know.

I quite enjoy organising my own cheap cycling holidays in Europe. I went to Mallorca in March and really enjoy it but would prefer to explore another country rather than going there again. I am thinking of going to Alentejo in Portugal in late March.

That does look interesting. But there is nothing about cycle hire on the site and I dont really want to fly my bike down. Do you know anything about bike availability in Portugal.

I have read a bit about cycling in Portugal. There are several options. There are many companies who arranges self guided tours and they provide bike as well. They are bit expensive but they will arrange hotels and baggage transfer etc. It can cost up to about £600 a week.
Otherwise you can hire cycles from Lisbon or Evora and will cost about £100 or so hire a bike. When you think about the cost of hotels ect it still come to the same amount.
It depends on what is the budget. I was thinking of doing it under £500 a week.
Easyjet or Ryan air to Lisbon- £80
Transfer to and from Lisbon to Evora-£50
Food and lodging £60-75 a day (lunch and dinner etc) for 7 days - £300- This is the area where you can save money.
Rest is for bike hire or to take your own bike. It cost £70 to take your own bike on Easyjet
I have always hired bikes in the past. But apart from Mallorca, you may not get a decent bike. Therefore I would prefer to take the bike. But I still do not have a bike bag.
