you/your friend can buy one from Merlin Cycles brand new for 90 quid, and a BB costs about a tenner

I hate to ask, but why?

Hollow tech might appear a good engineering solution to rigidity and serviceability but in practice it's pants, let down by p!ss-poor bearings that are almost consumables like brake pads.

However, in the lack of any further info here is the Hollowtech triple that came as OEM on my hybrid and has been brilliant apart from being on it's 3rd bearing set in just over 6000 miles (that's only 3000 each).
Only £55 delivered and inc the B/B

Cheapest I could find anywhere, it does not come with a BB but I got a new Tiagra HT2 one off Ebay for £9.75 delivered.
