The flu has gone, in its place is a cold and a bit of a cough, so I donned full Astana (THERMAL) kit and headed up Werneth low, First off is a beast of a climb, to get to the killer 20-odd% Joel Lane. This was the first chance I had in really handing out a beating to my new Cannondale.

Damn it was bleedin windy up there today too.

The CAAD-8 is soooooo freakin stiff when climbing its unreal, solid as a rock when flying down the other side too, its the first real ride I have done it on it, thanks to snow, ice , flu and near death (well that's the same as the flu for us men)

It's going to make for some excellent commutes and I'm pretty sure there will be a few scalps along the way too.

She's a keeper for sure........Well until I can afford a CAAD-10

Excellent.

Not so sure it's that steep mate....... the climb from Compstall Road at Romiley is the steepest, Cowlishaw Rd - 1 in 5 or 4 - Joel Lane is hard though, and a good climb. Probably 1 in 6 though.

You've also got Apple Street...... It's not great, it's just about do-able on a road bike...just - serious bike abuse... I haven't ever bothered to try..........

I need to come up with a short route that is so insane - it's easily do-able with Werneth in the equation.
