I have a 6 gang individually switched and surge protected extension lead with 2m cable. It has been great but I need at least one more socket after getting a new desk lamp. So I looked for another one from the same brand in 8 gang version. It seems Masterplug no longer sell individually switched AND surge protected extension leads. So does anyone know of a good brand that offers 8 or at a push more gang extension leads with both Surge protection and individual switching. I want both for the obvious reasons. Protect computers and other tech from surges and to allow me to switch off devices not in use from the extension (saves energy).
Now one of the sockets is a phone charger for two USB-C cables (same each end) but at the moment if i want to use my DAB+ radio I have to unplug the charger. A pain to swap things aroung when it is right under my desk. I guess I could use something like my current 6 gang individually switched and surge protected lead if it had two USB-C sockets as well. Anyone know of a good one with those features I need and the extra USB-C sockets too. I could use USB-A but I would need to buy new cables to match that as most seemt to be USB-C both ends these days.
So does anyone know where I can get ont of these two options? Or an alternatve option.
This is for a workstation in my home office for two sets of laptops with separate monitors, lamp, phone charger with two USB-C cables to a phone / tablet or just two phones. and DAB+ radio too. That is 7 plugs needing a space. The wall socket is a 2 way one about 1.8m away. The second wall socket is used for a laser printer but is too far away to run a second extension from that printer wall socket to my desk and still supply the printer i think.
