Great news for me -I start a new job on Monday, and my commute has been cut from 24 miles each way to 8 miles each way. While I did do the full commute to my old job at least once a week (couldn't do it every day as I'd be too knackered) and did do half commuting (parking the car halfway) I still consider 8-14 miles as the perfect commute distance.
All nice back roads, mostly uphill on the way there, so it means mostly downhill on the commute home! Can it get any better? Wow, I'm lucky. It might even mean I don't have to drive the car for a week!
