We bought a cockerel from a local farm this year. My lady just about managed to resist running in and asking if the farmer had a big cock for us

Its 8lbs by the way.

Same'ish size as ours biggsy...christ you're going to live on that stuff forever. Ours has got to feed 10...and hopefully be enough left to see us for turkey in gravy with chips on Boxing day.

There is only three of us here and none of us like Turkey.

We used to have a large goose but this year we have a duck, not too big though, just enough for one sitting.

Mine looks like two organic duck breasts. The other six courses look completely different.

Goose for the Attricks too. I've never been a huge fan of turkey. Not enough calories!

Not got a full bird this year, we've gone for Turkey Drumsticks.

We are going for a vegetarian christmas meal, don't cha know! Mostly because there will be more veggies round the table than meat eaters.

I'm not so bothered because I'm not a great turkey fan anyway. I much prefer chicken or duck.

I saw a drool-making recipe for left-over turkey on the TV the other day - brown leg meat shredded with a fork, seasoned with chinese five-spice and fried until crispy is apparently an excellent alternative to crispy duck with plum sauce and those round bready wafer things to roll it up in!

A teeny 750g!

It's a slice of turkey breast joint cut for me by a friendly butcher. There's just me eating meat this year. I think it'll be just under 1kg stuffed so the leftovers should last for a day or so but not outstay their welcome.
