I recently bought a garmin edge 820 and connected it to my windows laptop, but could not view the files as my laptop said it could not open fit files. What software do I need to open and view these files on my laptop.
If you want to open .FIT files (as well as .GPX and various other GPS file formats) directly on your laptop without uploading them to an online service first, you can try downloading RouteConverter (http://www.routeconverter.de/home/en), which I have found useful in the past.
can you use Bluetooth to move stuff over from a Garmn to your phone /strava ?
I changed phones, to a Nokia and it's pretty poor at tracking my rides.
loads of straight lines and missing bits.
so I'm thinking of getting a basic Garmin ( £100 or so ) and trying that, as it's cheaper than changing phones again
All your rides will be on garmin connect
As long as your rides are saved on your garmin you will see your rides on your phone or laptop but you must download garmin connect
