I've seen a few cycling videos lately and they show an overlay of cadence, elevation, speed, gradient % and route.

I don't have a GPS specific device, I use my phone.

How and what is needed to do this?

TIA

Garmin or other you can reliably download a .fit or .GPX file from

Camera (Garmin virb elite/GoPro/Shimano Sport Camera

Editing software (Race render 3/Garmn Virb Edit)

I've got a Garmin virb elite that does it, but surely must be a phone app that will do it? How about this?Must be an Android equivalent as well.
It WILL hammer the battery though, no matter what phone you have.

I've got a camera but not a dedicated GPS unit. I just use an iPhone app such as MapMyRide. Endomondo, Strava etc.

Maybe give garmin virb edit a try then. You should be able to download your ride .gpx file from Strave/Endomondo and then sync it to the footage in the software.
I can't really help much more as it's not an issue with the Virb Elite (just plugs into usb port and it works). You might get a little more help from the threads on the Garmin forums

@Piemaster @leonardodaforce Thanks for your help, guys!

OK! Managed to do it. From my Mobius camera I have to convert the mp4 video file taking out the audio. Then I can add it to Virb Edit (don't know why it won't allow for sound) Then I can manually add the gpx data from Endomondo (doesn't seem to work form the MapMyRide gpx file) then I can add the overlays I require.

Hopefully, I'll be out for a ride tomorrow so will have new footage and gpx data to coincide with one another and create a video with overlay. Time will tell.
