Just realised how stupid I have been for the last two years.
Been cycling to work now for about two years with spare tubes in my saddle bag on various bikes.
Just realised that the pump I have been carrying in my INOV8 backpack is designed for schreiders for the bike that I have not ridden for 6 years!! My Carrera Kraken!

So folks
I have a workshop pump with gauge and would like a road pump

Heard lots about the topeak ones - but your advice would be welcomed please
Will be carried in my back sack

Don't want to seem like I'm stating the obvious, but does the inner valve in your current pump fit in the opposite way as well, a lot of hand pumps fit both types of valves!
If not then I have a topeak pocket rocket and I would recommend it.

Don't know about your pump but my little Topeak's head can be dismantled. Inside is a rubber collar that the schraeder valve fits into. Remove and turn over to make it fit presta valves (smaller hole).

Hi Baldy

I have a Topeak Pocket Rocket too and it works just fine. However, since you are carrying a rucksack why not go for a Topeak mini track pump and make things easier for yourself?

I thought I was the only one that could go 2 years between visitations from the p******* fairy.

Not bad going sir

Most of the pumps I've had/have normally do both types of valve, either with an internal fitment or a double function head.
