Anybody catch the sprinkling of Smiths song references in last night's episode of Springwatch ?

Thought it was a bit odd when Chris Packham described a stoat as a 'Sweet and Tender Hooligan', then went on to explain how a wasp would 'Oscillate Wildly' on the nest, good stuff.

Hah from one of the entertainment websites:

In previous episodes, the naturalist has cunningly quoted Smiths titles referring to a bustard as looking like a 'Vicar in a Tutu', a feeding chick as 'Bigmouth Strikes Again' and asking co-host Humble to 'Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before'. In last night's (9th June) show, Packham stepped it up a gear, dropping no less than five Smiths song titles into the hour-long programme. A stoat was a 'Sweet and Tender Hooligan', a wildlife photographer 'This Charming Man', Packham wondered whether a sick swallow was 'Still Ill', dismissed his implied friendlessness by stating 'Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me', and enlightened the viewers by explaining that wasps 'Oscillate Wildly' to create their nests.

it might not be the presenter, but, rather, the scriptwriter. The Sarah Beaney prog is hilarious, but in a smutty way. And Phil Spencer (I watch this stuff because the Babe makes me.....) is always being asked to say 'it's wight by the woad, so not weally wuwal.

Well I counted about five: Well I Wonder, I Know It's Over, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want, Shelia Take A Bow, can't remember any others. Plus, Should I Stay Or Should I Go and his JaMC t-shirt (he normally wears band t-shirts or this is more name dropping?).

Bit sad tbh, but was pretty funny playing Smiths Bingo ;).

I don't know the chemistry between the 2, not watching the programme, but Kate Humble seemed to take a dim view at some of the more blatent title dropping.
