Anyone got any plans for some serious benders next week?

To answer my own question, I will almost certainly have no alcohol over Christmas.

Two reasons, I've lost interest in drinking over the last few years, and I have some driving to do.

A third reason is none of my immediate family, with whom I am spending Christmas, drink a great deal more than I do.

If it's possible, I shall be taking an even grumpier stance on New Year's Eve which I just don't like.

Also, I am hoping to go for a ride on New Year's Day, something which is not compatible with drinking the night before.

Looking at some people's supermarket trolleys in the last few days suggests a lot of drinking will be done in some households.

What are your plans for alcohol consumption over Christmas and New Year?

Loads.

Like serious amounts.

More than normal... I throw my none during the week rule out the window!

That said I don't get "drunk", just pleasantly merry. I've never seen the point of drinking to the point of being sick, or not being able to remember what I did. I will probably exceed the recommended allowance but it's just for a week and it will be spread throughout the week and quite often with meals.

No more than normal - a couple of glasses of wine per night max. More than that and I feel muzzy in the morning and don't sleep well - I'm old enough to have learnt it's just not worth it.

Although port may also be consumed. That stuff is dangerously more-ish!

Share a lot of your thoughts
I drink far less than I did, I got bored with it and sick of wasting so many days hungover
That said I have bought 20 cans so will be dipping into them. If the feeling takes me I'll have a good drink, if not I won't, not planning on drinking lots but may have one or two nights when I get the taste, hopeful,y no more than that

I hate New Year's Eve and have done the same as you in the past. This year we are invited to a friends, so not sure if driving or walking, driving is good so I can cycle the day after, I prefer a drink New Year's Day

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Not much. In fact probably none as I don't have any tolerance for alcohol, So its best if I stay away from it altogether. I really don't want to fall over just from smelling alcohol.
