Some of the new £5..00 notes are fetching serious money....depending on the serial number.
Out of interest I was watching one on ebay. With 9 minutes to go the bids were over £35K. I missed the final bid so dont know what it went for but there are several "asking" £3,500.00

Not just the serial number. Faults/errors have already been noticed on the notes.

Have i entered some parallel universe where a brand new fiver is worth more than a fiver?

Wierdos. Ill stick to this massive pile of penny reds.
You've not come across these before then?

Needs to be flat, unmarked, no creases or holes! With the required odd imperfections.

Well it's not flat as it has been in my wallet overnight and the only imperfection I can see is it won't last long

I don't understand antiques or collectables. I understand that in perhaps 100 years time a good condition fiver would be worth loads more, but what's all the fuss about serial numbers? One note on ebay was asking silly money because the number started AK47. Who cares if you have 3 sequential serial numbers, surely they are only worth something to collectors if they are kept mint for x years?
