I clean the mountain bike more frequently than the road bike - the road bike is a bugger to clean, the chainset collects so much black tarry crap from the road!

So is mine, shows up the dirt really nicely! ;0) If we've been out in the mud and it's really filthy I hose it down. Sometimes if I get the chance at work I'll take a cloth to the tubes etc but I virtually never clean it thoroughly. I just don't see the point when it gets dirty again so quickly.
One of the guys we cycle with used to do a lot of road cycling and his bikes are always spotless, even his mountain bike. I don't know how he finds the time!

Almost daily 
I even have a little pot of black paint for covering any chips from stones. Sad. I try to clean the chain/ cassette once a week. Next year, I'm thinking of getting a life

I used to clean mine every time I went out on it and it got dirty, now I clean it about once a week, as every time I go out on it, it gets very dirty, so there does not seem much point really
