I'm just hoping I don't come out of the pedals at 35+mph and end up going head down into the frame and I'm finished... I'm used to normal trainers.
Blimey if you are only doing 35mph you might as well stick to trainers, I have mine medium as it helps my knackered knees to have a bit of float.

as loose as possible, and never had a unclip incident

Tighter than I used to after I once had a foot slip out while I was going round a speed bump at speed, and shoot forward into the gap between the downtube and wheel (which was turned at the time). Major lacerations. Basically, I adjust them till they're too tight - ie, it's actually quite hard to get them to disengage - then back them off a bit.

Started young, and still going.

Barnet,
My SPD's are on a medium setting so that there is a bit of float. I have not pulled out to date.:bicycle:
