A bit long winded but bear with me.

In the previous post I was asking for advice/help in contacting Giant UK directly (as I have some questions not answered in the blurb).
IanRauk advised me of the following........many thanks Ian
It's on their site
United Kingdom
GIANT UK Ltd.
Phone: 00 44 844 245 9030

HOWEVER.
It goes on to say..............
This phone number is For specific Giant Webshop order queries only please call us on 0844 245 9030 from Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm excluding public holidays quoting your Webshop Order Reference. We are only able to respond to queries specific to Giant Webshop Orders - for all other matters contact your nearest Giant Retailer.

It then goes on to say............................
If your question is not answered here and your local Authorised Giant Retailer cannot resolve your issue you can write to us here;
Giant UK Ltd
Charnwood Edge
Syston
Road
Cossington
Leicester
LE7 4UZ
And then it says...................................

Please note this address is a private office only - we do not have a public showroom or warranty return / inspection facility on site - please visit your local Giant Retailer to view our products or return your product for inspection.

Now.........bearing in mind my LBS tells me they wont be stocking it and the next nearest LBS tells me not to buy one as its a poor bike with a poor quality frame and even the Giant Concept store told me they wont be stocking them..........thats not very helpful and I find it quite worrying.
I like the look of the bike and it "seems" a decent price but I would want some reassurances.

I would call the web shop on Monday and ask for the right details or to place an order . Or start calling more retailers

The bike is an odd looking beast however

Why not start with the actual giant stores. Can't see why Liverpool couldn't get one from St Paul's or twickenham for example

I had to call that number for a warranty query (broken forks on a Giant Rapid 5). It was purchased at a store rather than online, but the guy was happy to give me the information necessary. I'd just call and see what they say. Their response might help you decide whether to purchase the bike.

I can't really imagine Giant knocking out a poor quality frame. On your other thread someone said that it is 'heavy' - I found some Stateside spec's showing the Anyroad with a Comax frame and 105 at sub 10kg - can't imagine this bike being much different.

Many Giant retailers do 'not stock' specific models esp' the less mainstream.

I agree that beauty is in the eye of the beholder - I think it looks great and with a triple I'd have one if I was in the market for another bike.

Looks very nice.....................but its not carbon.

Um - makes it tricky then if it has to be carbon. Is there a reason you don't want ally?

As already said on the other thread PX do a carbon around that price point although they don't do it for me - there are two in the village where i live and they look rough and ready. Decals look like something the local 5 year olds have cobbled together and the cable stops look Heath Robinson at best. Both owners love them though.

So I don't know if these observations will help at all, but... three separate experienced stockists advise you to steer clear of it and you still won't... is this a case of you've set your mind on it and now need someone to pat you on the back and say "good choice"?

What is it about carbon that makes it so important to have?

Giant Store Liverpool's facebook page advertises the Fastroad so I have asked them to clarify whether or not they are stocking it.

Cheers

I had my full carbon road bike stolen and am replacing it. I dont want drops (another story but I just dont use them).
I have heard negative things about PX carbon........no experience of them though.
