Hurty wrists

Last week I put some 700c x 20 tyres on my steel fixie. No particular reason, but they were lying around and I was curious.

They were OK, a little nervous and darty, but little different from 23s.

So I put them up from 110 to 130 psi out of idle curiosity.

They felt firm on the road, but no more nervous, darty or skittery than they had at 110.

But... after a 36-mile ride on Herefordshire hills I had to drive somewhere and my left wrist/forearm HURT LIKE HELL.

I had to drive with one arm and gave it plenty of ice when I got home.

Today (2 days later) pressure was dropped to 100 psi on the front (rear still at 130) and I did the same 36-mile route.

No pain or discomfort AT ALL.

It seems to me it was barmy pressure in the front tyre that made my wrists hurty.

Am I right to suppose this?

Does this happen to other people?

Is 130 psi very high? (It was within the limits for the outer).

As to why on Earth I pumped the tyres up in the first place, it just seemed a good idea at the time. This principle governs most of my automotive and cycling decisions.

130 is very high IMO, I ride 100/110 and I am a big old heffalump.

I'd have thought 130 in 700x20's would make for a right old bone shaker of a ride.
