Yes - I managed to turn up, at the right time, in the right place, and with my bike and shoes!
And ...

Don't be a tease - how did you get on? (I've been sat at the PC all day, trying, but failing, to motivate myself to go out and do something, and I was wondering how your ride was.)

I have had far too many I'm an ar$e moments in my life, but a couple of my faves...
As a teenager I shared a house with 2 friends, returning home after a very heavy drinking session I coudn't understand why my key wouldn't work, I didn't want to wake my mates up to let me in, so i climbed onto the outhouse roof & in through the bathroom window.
Don't know who got the biggest shock..me or the person sleeping in my old room - I'd moved out the week before!

Then there's the time I came home from a ride over the Downs to find my car gone! PANIC!! Phoned police, was told someone would be round asap.. then got a call to say my car had been found.. Outside my sons school!
Then I remembered the brainwave i'd had that morning - The week before i'd gone further then planned, ok i got lost! By the time I got home, garaged the bike, changed my shoes & driven up the school I was 20 mins late, so that week i'd figured just to be safe i'd take the bike to school on the car & ride from there!

And then there's todays ar$e moment..
Couldn't find my phone, looked everywhere. I knew i'd had it before I went into Asda as #1 son had called me just as I parked up, but couldn't remember anything after that. I called my number and a foreign sounding chap answered, I asked him why he had my phone, he was very rude & hung up on me. I tried again, the phone rang half a dozen times & went to voicemail, several more tries & the same thing. I left a stroppy message. Then I had a brainwave, I have the Latitude app on my phone, so logged in on the pc... It was showing my phone as in the next town, quite near to where I work in fact. I called my phone provider & got the phone locked, was just about to call the police to report i it stolen when #2 son opened the freezer "Mummy why's your phone in here?"
Oh dear! Turns out my phone hadn't 'updated' my location after i'd left work...and the poor chap I'd rung..just happens to have the same phone number as me apart from the last two digits being the wrong way round!
