Thats quite sensible. A car is unlikely to bump up the kerb to use the cycle lane there!

Have you reported the holes on Fill that hole? They do get holes filled very fast

I think, not that I can know, that it's there because it's a mini-roundabout and it's to offer the cyclist some protection from cars coming from the right. And possibly meaning the cyclist doesn't have to stop to give way. I don't know that though.

The extra kerb on the right of the lane would have sufficed, leaving out the up and down bit. Would probably have been 1/4 the cost as well.

It looks like it's to cater for the trend of kids riding jump-bikes (around flat Essex) with saddles set so low that they're pointless. I'm sorry to say but I don't think you were going fast enough, you need to hit it at 35mph+ to 'table-top' it Moto-X style!

exactly the opposite of my thought....it's a speed hump!:blush:
