I can't believe the difference!!

Have been commuting for a few months now, on an old (8 years) mountain bike. Took delivery of my new bike at the weekend (Specialized Tricross), courtesy of the cycle to work scheme and cannot believe the difference it makes.

Bigger wheels, Thinner Wheels, Light as a feather, drop handlebars, smooth gear change (well what i'm used to anyway, and some reviews say that is a little heavy!?!?)

An absoulte joy to ride. I'm like a kid with a new bike. Oh hold on I am a kid (30+) with a new bike.

If you see a big bloke with an inane smile, cycling between Bromley and the West End on a new bike, that's me :-)

Having commuted on a mtb for more than 10 years and then switching to a road bike early last year I know exactly what you mean

I went from a clarty MTB to a hybrid and thought it was marvellous - sooo much quicker and lighter.... I then moved to a road bike last year and haven't used my hybrid since as it feels like a tonne weight!!!!

It must be just what you get used to I guess.

Road bikes are wicked...... I ride my slicked and mud guarded MTB to work most days, but love getting the road bike(s) out....so much more response and acceleration - so 'chuckable' - argh I sound like a chav with a corsa and fat tyres.......

Glad you're enjoyig the roadie, Bugner, I like most bicycles but for me the roadies are head and shoulders above the rest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
