I watched a dvd film of the book The Hiding Place.
The story of the family Ten Boom
It tells the story of the family's attempt to save Dutch Jews. They were caught and the entire family went into a consentration camp.Corrie ten Boom survived.
The film made Schindlers List which i saw years ago, look like a sunday school outing.
At the end i sat in silence and i wept not just small tears but a violent outburst.
Horror just sheer horror seeing it acted out,i cannot comprehend what it must have been like to survive that terror.
I am going to say watch it,then say it must never happen again.

I went to the pictures to see this in 1978 and my gob was positively smacked. It gave a new meaning to the word 'dignified', in the face of such inhuman brutality.

I've just finished reading the book. What an incredible woman. The world owes a lot to her memory, not just for what she did before being arrested by the Gestapo but her post-war work (not that she saw it as work) rebuilding people's lives and her community.
