I was at a party tonight.

A 50th birthday party. Having a good time, nicely warmed up, well into the party spirit, the single malt was being splashed, dancing was just beginning to liven up, the kareoke was about to begin........................................and my mrs said she wanted to go home. .

My club mates here seemed most baffled that I wasn't having a do for my 50th earlier this year. I'm just not a party person, never have been. So if my wife and I go to a do, it's me that asks if we can go home.... every 5 minutes from time of arrival!

And 'single malt splashing'! Horror upon horrors!! If I had a single malt party, I'd forget to send the invites!

I caused total confusion in our house this year, I'm 60 in December and have insisted there is no party, and told everyone I want nothing special, I want it treated as just another Birthday. The trouble was that the mrs applied female logic to this and organised a special holiday instead. Shes still wants it to be a special birthday though.
