I think that what the police consider 'petty crime' can have a deep personal impact on people. My satnav was stolen from my car whilst parked on my drive a few years ago and it really upset me. one or two other 'petty crimes' have happened to me since and its hard not to let them build up into a loss of faith in society/

Wise words - it's the low-level, largely undetected crime that drags us all down.

Karma - how about this a couple of weeks ago i took the waste out to our compost bin. This is situated at the top of our garden over the road.We live in a sort of circle, with a small wood opposite each house. Our land is a woodland walkway if you like.So i finds out some numpty has took a fancy to a very large fern and nicked it during the night.
So fast forward to this morning,my wife takes out the waste today and comes back in with the news, they have taken a NEW ZEALAND TREE FERN.worth about £60 from any garden centre.

Then she informs me that it does not matter because unbeknown to me it was dead.It caught a spell of frost and damp last year like many other in this part of Yorkshire .Karma eh.

Chin up @Saluki, it's horrible that you're having a bit of a down time at the minute, but your cyclechat friends are right behind you don't forget. Have you sorted out all the necesserry practical things like cancelling cads etc?

Cards cancelled within 5 minutes of finding it missing. There had been no transactions on them though but cloning is a growing thing, I believe. Not that it will do them any good.
