In the UK, we seem to be having a 'proper winter' for a change - nice crisp blue skies, but really cold with snow and ice everywhere. With a bit of luck that will lead on to a 'proper summer' in 2009 rather the dreary wet cool ones we've had the past couple of years .

Or am I just fooling myself...?

I thought wet cool summers in the united kingdom were supposed to be the norm (rather than the freakishly hot occasional ones in the 70s and from 1995 onwards minus 2 years). Anyway I know what you mean.

I don't like 'baking hot' but I do like it to be dry, there to be blue skies, and for it to be warm enough to loaf around in shorts. 22-25 degrees every day for 3 months would do me quite nicely .
