I am always amazed by people can interperate things so differently, we all had driving lessons once upon a time, I sort of presume we all read the highway code - I did. For those that have been driving less than 15 years they would have all had to take the theory test.
I prsume that most cyclist drive cars too, so none of us should have any excuse for not knwoing what lights, signs sgnals, lanes actulay mean
I passed my test as a teenager in an automatic, (as I had a cage on my left leg I couldn't use a clutch) 13 years later I needed to be able to drive a manual, so I booked a course of lessons, I was shocked at how mnay basic rules I had forgot, how many bad habits I had picked up. It took me 3yrs to pass my test - OK I had 2 pregnancies in the middle, so did stop trying for a while!
I didn't pass my test first time either, that took me a 3 attempts, one of which was because my instructor turned up in a new car that I had never driven & had a very stiff clutch that I couldn't get the hang of in the hour prior to the test.
But, I passed eventualy, it has made me a better driver - I really do think that having some sort of 'refresher' course should be mandotory
Ok now i've said that, i'll duck & take cover as that has probably opened up a whole new can of worms
