I thought mine was too, but I stripped my pedals down, cleaned them, rebuilt them, and it stopped.. Phew!

No line apart from the Birkenstock one on my feet getting stronger, and my freckles look like yours but gradually get less but still loads on my shoulder @SatNavSaysStraightOn
