The other day, some kids in the road were riding round with plastic bottles shoved in the back forks to make a bit of noise as they were riding.

I pointed out that we used to attach a playing card to the back forks with a peg & let it run against the spokes to get a great sound when I was their age (many many moons ago !!).

10 mins later, there was a knock at the door & 5 kids all stood there with pegs & cards asking how they should put it on.

Of course, I obliged & they were all razzing round the streets having a whale of a time.

Nice to know that I can still give the youngsters some good advice.

Nice one! We used to do that too (in the 1970s) and career around the streets on our "motorbikes" ;)

Excellent. It's great to see all the old tricks getting passed on.

I was amazed a few years ago when Little-LC started primary school and came home trying out all the old gags and riddles that we used to do 30 odd years ago. Do they just get handed down year on year?

Don't forget the tops off tubes of Smarties lodged in the spokes to enhance the looks!
