I took the bus this morning.....kind of!

OK this is some footage of me drafting a bus. Some (maybe lots) of people may think this is irresponsible, I can understand that....but.....it's also lots of fun!!!

BE WARNED. I go through a red light in this video. People that know me on here and Bikeradar know that I'm in the anti-RLJing corner. This morning I made a misjudgement. It was a split second decision and by the time I had realised it may not have been a wise decision I was doing 32 mph and wasn't sure if slamming the brakes on was going to be a good idea. I apologise for this in advance of your viewing. Enjoy.

Heh heh - that looked like fun. Quite surprised with how far back you were.. I'm usually closer than this when I'm drafting, but I tend to goh the offside corner more to be able to see past them to judge whether there are any 'issues' coming up... not sure I'd like to do that on the road you were on though.

Red light - well, I kinda see your point... you *could* have braked and probably stopped, but what a waste of all that speed!

A lot of us have done and do that sort of thing but to be honest when sitting looking at it on the computer it doesn't seem like a good idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Impressively long draft! I'm not sure I would have stopped for that red either. Even on the recumbent I think stopping safely would have been a close call. I suppose there's no excuse for the 36mph though.

Looks like fun. The thing that would worry me about drafting buses is not being able to anticipate changes in the road surface. I guess if you know the road it's probably fine, but you can get a nasty surprise when a big pothole suddenly 'appears' in front of you.
