No it isn't. I Googled "One Shot drain cleaner" earlier today. Adverts for it appeared on most of the websites I subsequently visited. I have no desire to assist Google in its sinister quest for a global information monopoly. BTW, why are they buying into military robots?
They are teed off with you not buying all the stuff they lovingly craft those personalised adverts for. So their Shawshank Robot is going to creep up your newly unblocked drain and order a shedload of kit while you are out.

Am I right in thinking thaf Outlook 2007 cannot be used with W8?

I use the calandar in Outlook more than the mail. It syncs easily with my live.com account.

There's Google Chrome (the best one), that has Adblocker.
There's Firefox that has Adblocker Plus
I'm not sure about IE 8 or Safari or other browsers.
Thanks. I would rather not deal with Google, for obvious reasons. I'm using IE8 at the moment because it's the most recent version that works with XP as far as I know. I'm grateful for the other suggestions.

Why buy M$ office when you can get Libre office free? Libre office also handles all the file formats that the older versions of office will not touch (xlsx).
Also let MS or Google store your email, OK they read it all, but is worth the security of your data.
you do realise there is a frre bit of software from MS which will allow older versions of office to open modern versions and save as the older version again.

( typed from my very own Grassy Knoll)
By security, I meant they won't lose it. I did say "they will read it"

Libre Office can mis-handle the formatting of recent versions of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint documents. There's not a lot of fun to be had from having to unpick mangled Microsoft generated documents opened in Libre Office.
Never had any problems here, but maybe my use is not that complex.

Well I am a Linux user so it does not really apply to me, but I still would prefer to use a to use a 1 stop solution rather than having add ons to make it do what you want it to do.

will keep to using what works and keeps correct formatting rather than find at a crucial moment the formatting has gone up the shooter
