I have really suffered this week with the cold weather and it has taken a few hours for my fingers to stop tingling when I get into work!

Yesterday I went to Milletts and got two pairs of gloves -

One is a pair of Viloft Glove Liners by Peter Storm (£6.99) and the other is a pair of SealSkinz Mountain Bike Gloves - "All Weather Comfort" (£29.99)

I used them last night and this morning - as I cycled through town it said that it was 1 degree and my hands were lovely and warm still. I took about 40 minutes to cycle in today too so I was out for a while.

I know that somebody was asking on here yesterday about gloves and I checked out the thread because I wanted a new pair.

I have to say I am very impressed - now all I need to do is sew them to the sleeves of my jacket so I don't lose them like the other 50 odd pairs I have paid a fortune for over the last 8 years commuting!

Just get a long piece of elastic, thread through your jacket sleeves and sew one glove to each end. Used to work for me, when I was 2 B)

I have some Sealskinz equestrian gloves that are superb - (I don't use them for the bike as they'd be too warm for me). One note of caution I would sound is that the fit can be a bit odd (baggy palm, tight fingers). It works for me, but they're the sort of thing you need to try in a shop really.

I have been using the same liners for a couple of years during the colder months and they are definately worth it. They also sell them in Blacks for the same price.

A guy at work had to give up cycling seriously last winter, not long after he had bought a new set of winter gloves. We got chatting and he sold them to me this week for £35. A beautiful pair of those Assos 3 glove winter systems. Absolutely amazing - whether I'd pay £100 forthem new is another matter but they are beautiful and sooooo warm.
