Coz I now feel that my life will not be complete unless I get a track bike.

Its been over 25 years since I rode a fixed wheel and I have only ever ridden on a outdoor track.

So riding at Newport on Sunday was a whole new ball game to me, and boy what a ball game!!

Infectious or what?

I've already started dropping the odd hint or two to SWMBO, and so far so good, either that or she hasn't sussed out what I'm up to.

But do I build my own up or buy a ready built one?

Here's the advice given to me a wee while ago:

I have decided to wait a little while as I found out my employer are due to introduce Bike 2 Work scheme....I'm intending to get a Dolan Precursa in a shiny colour

I missed that thread, but I have also spent to many hours on the velodrome.org.uk web site, dribbling over what I could get.

I was thinking about getting it on the Bike 2 Work scheme as well, but I have have since found out that with my employer you can only apply in September for a bike on the scheme. How crap is that.......???

Plus the fact, there is no way on this earth that I can wait that long to get one.

You want to keep your eye in the informal ride section for the next Manchester Velodrome meet. Well worth the 456 mile round trip

Indeed, I think it would be about a couple of hundred mile round trip for me, so not that bad really.

I found out today that my employer will have the scheme running by March at the latest

...but I'm not holding my breath as I heard that last year and the year before

You could if you tried:evil:

I'm sure that I could however:-

a) I'd like to remain married.

 Have a roof over my head.

c) Have a bed to sleep in rather than on the sofa

BUT, above all...

d) Retain my testicles in their current location!

Nice well worth the carbon emmission. I think I may have to plant 2 trees to offset it next time

You lack focus Alan. Removal of testicles would reduce your weight, sleeping outside would toughen you up...... you could be a track God:biggrin:

That's all well and good, but I'd have nothing to scratch when I get bored at work.
