fledgling seagulls is.....cos this one didnt make it

Teabreak at work...girls are sitting in the sun, directly under a 30ft wall of the building. Just got up, literally...as a fledgling gull smacked to the floor, just where they were sitting :ohmy::ohmy:
They must be nesting on the roof.
The 30ft drop ruptured it, quite messy...and they ran off screaming for me to sort it out

Shoot it, the poor thing they cried, put it out of its misery...WTF am i going to shoot it with !!!

Bugger, its dying, so i picked it up to take out the back to despatch it (i had'nt thought exactly how )

By the time i got to the other side of the yard, its dead. Disposed of....went back to tell the girls, and one of them's puking their guts up in the car park xx(

Bloody hell...you never know what the next job is in engineering

Poor you! Do you get a lot of seagull colonies in Peterborough?

:biggrin::biggrin: If all the seagulls returned to the coast to nest, it'd be like something out of Hitchcocks 'The Birds'

I had a feeling they were nesting on the flat roof of the factory, there's been a lot of activity up there. Every evening they roost on next door too, bloody loads of em.

Ah well, such is life..or death, as the case may be

I mean, poor seagull, but that's nature for you, they can't all make it. Not being able to stay on a roof doesn't bode well for a cliff dwelling species.

Yes, one good tern deserves another

Our local gulls roost on the town reservoir - it's a fantastic sight as between 5,000 -10,000 birds settle down for the night after feasting all day on the local rubbish tip.

I take it your boss understood when the above landed on his desk.

One of the girls it nearly landed on is a supervisor, who does on occasions sign my reports.
Couldnt resist it..'put you mark on this for me'.....she started to sign it without looking what it was ....
I said 'bloody hell, you're not going to read it then' !!!

It raised a good laugh...
