would yellow bartape and cables go? I'm looking to make it a bit different from all the other 2011 boardmans

personally i was a bit disappointed by the white tape and saddles on the new boardmans, so I'd change them. but not to yellow, I'd go with last years black.

i never did like the amount of yellow on the old limited editions

if you want to introduce some yellow, tyres are a good option (standard ones won't last long anyway).

I'd leave the bar tape, I certainly wouldn't go yellow with it, cables would be more subtle, but probably a bit too subtle to as you say, "make it a bit different from all the other 2011 boardmans"

^+1 for the black.

You clearly need some decent pedals  , perhaps a set of Speedplay Zero's in yellow would be both subtle and performance enhancing

Yellow is a hard colour to coordinate since it only has to be a tiny bit out in tone or colour mix to look totally mismatched.

Go with function over style for cables - that'll mean sticking with black. And only fit yellow bar tape if you can get a good colour match to the detailing already on the bike.

IMHO

The ltd editions came with yellow hoods I think. I would leave the bar tape as it is.

+1 for red cabling. It will match the red in the wheels and I think white, red and black together looks very good. The yellow isn't very obvious at all and will fade further back as you highlight the red. Yellow is also difficult to coordinate as someone else says and it can be a horrible colour eg very insipid sometimes. If you change the wheels not all contain red of course but it's also not that uncommon so could be coordinatable if you ever change them

I was considering getting yellow easton stickers made. I want to try and keep to 3 colours, I will try and PhotoShop both red and yellow and post them up later

The latest Lidl/Aldi kit offers a black/yellow jersey and softshell to assist in colour co-ordinating.

I'm not a fan of coloured tape and cables - I like a nice coloured frame and then ALL black components and finishing kit - works every time!
