I'm looking for ideas of books for a boy age 12+ - any suggestions gratefully received.

The current 'teenage' books seem to consist of vampire/romance themes, neither of which interest him!

He's fine with his reading age and he's got a Kindle, but doesn't like the current selection of books available in the local WH Smiths!

My son loved the Anthony Horowitz series - I think Stormbreaker is the first one in the series. It is about a 14 year old spy.

Time riders by Alex Scarrow
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
The Chronicles of Darkness by Michelle Paver
Stuff by Charlie Higson

Seems to be the most recent stuff my 13 year old has gone through and the Stornbreaker/Alex Rider ones already mentioned

Moonfleet is a classic read.

I still return to it 40+ years after my first encounter.

Some of the Azimov science fiction books along with John Windham.

Thanks for the suggestions. He's read through most of the Alex Rider series, but I'll look out for others.

For those with rude suggestions ( @threebikesmcginty  ), it's my 12yo son!
