Here for rides.
I doubt I'll have it all sorted by 88, if I'm spared.

...did you have it all sorted well before 8?
I couldn't even spell 'believer' when I was eight, Greg - let alone beleive I could.
I could spell 'grey' though - and now I'm there!
Vernon believes in a diety. But to get there, he had to believe in diet a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h,i,j,k,l,m,n,o,p,q,r,s,t,u,v,w, and x (He's off 'is z)
Give over with all this religious tosh, you!

Yes. I'm very pieous.

Well as for having it sorted before 8, do you mean 8 in the morning or 8 in the evening? It's a transient business is a belief system.

Early morning, most mornings, I'm a very anarcho-pacifist type - a true liberal - full of the joy de vivre and willing to accept one and all for their diversity.

Come the first few working hours, there develops a cynical streak that says all the right things but thinks, 'hang on a minute...'

By lunchtime I'm biting the bullet on liberalism and all things bright and beautiful and edging toward a more realistic type of politic. I have no time for religion or poor driving, let alone the length of time it takes to get a coffee on the High Street. I get annoyed with arty types on Radio 4...

By late afternoon I'm in league with Richard Littlejohn and it only gets worse when Nigel Farage stirs me up a bit in the traffic jam, regarding other politicians. At least the trains ran on time etc etc.

By tea time and bathtime, I'm extolling the virtues of Stalinist Russia.

And then, way beyond 8pm, a few beers lands me back in Current Affairs where I crack open a yoghurt and talk nicely about Andrea Dworkin.

Nothing's ever set in stone so, as far as religion is concerned, just don't ask me at the wrong time of the day...

I can't remember if I ever did believe in anything like God since I stopped believing in Santa. The GF is Catholic and I've been to church with her a few times and to the Vatican. And always the architecture of a good Church/Abbey/Cathedral/Minster etc. impresses me for the design, building skills and strength of belief. I've also been to Samarkand and visited the Madrasahs and Mosques, having the same respects for the builders as I have for the creators of Stonehenge.
I respect others beliefs but expect them to respect my none-belief equally.
