Humph - loo-breaks! Don't I know it - it's not just a ladies' problem, us blokes as the years advance... At least I can get away with peeing out in the open (plenty of other motorists do it, most folks don't seem to mind). But consider - being stuck in lane 2 or 3 of a gridlocked motorway, with no way of even filtering across to the hard shoulder! One of the things that makes car journeys more stressful, and need more care in the planning, than it used to. Makes me wish for the bike - but even on the bike you can get stuck in miles and miles of suburbia with not even a convenient hedge in sight .... ducking into someone's front garden is something I will not do...

For a 400 mile journey to Scotland we don't have the option.

I'll wave to you as pass by on the train!! :hello: (I haven't had a delay in ages, although, to be fair, when on the sleeper, one is .....well .....sleeping, so I might have missed some!).

I used to work in a special needs school which was quite close to the A82 dual carriage way, and being a special school, almost all of the kids were picked up in the morning by a fleet of minibuses.

All of this went well in the morning until there was an accident or road works, and it happened frequently. I remember the kids and some staff were over 2 hours late one morning, and of course, most of the staff complained about it bitterly as well.

I, in contrast got the train every morning, and then had to walk for about 15 minutes, including up a rather steep hill (the ice in winter made it quite interesting!), and I was there on time 99.9% of the time. A lot of staff weren't!!

Would I drive? would I fcuk!!
