Here for rides.
... because next month's trip to cycle the Hebrides is off and the £350 is my refunded deposit and rail fare.

Company running it didn't get enough takers, for the first time in umpteen years appaz, to make money out of it so they canned it.Oh no. What's happened for the trip to be off?
Nah. Going to Spain, Sitges, this month.Use the dosh to go South - a last minute ferry to France or Spain beckons.
The choice seems something of a 'no brainer' to me, though I understand my predilections will be regarded as eccentric by many. And I've 'done' so much of France over the years....Bank it for a longer holiday in the Islands next year.
France or the Western Isles? No competition there![]()
Soz, but it means my Surly Straggler frame will get a Hope headset and bottom bracket before the autumn. You can send the £350 to me if you like, if it will make you feel better.
Nah me , i just forked out on a new carpet for kids room and swmbo is having a new kitchen .No holiday this year at all because of them.Mind you i got (for me ) 3 reasonable rides this week on my ourgate holiday .You can send the £350 to me if you like, if it will make you feel better.
Thanks for denting my enthusiasm..Lucky escape IMHO.. I am just back from a 5 day trip with the motorbike and a tent. My lasting memory will be rain, more rain, torrential rain, a leaking tent, and lots of midges.
Throw in outrageous prices for everything, and catering outlets as rare as hens teeth, and you begin to get the picture.
Positive side was Harris; stunning when the sun made a rare appearance, and the ferry crossings were picturesque.
My route was Oban, Barra, Eriskay, South Uist, Benbecula, North Uist, Berneray, Harris, Lewis, and the ferry from Stornoway to Ullapool.
Favourite bit for me was the bike ride today from Aviemore to Stirling, on the sections avoiding the A9. After Stirling the rain returned, with a vengeance.
