... that's right: Friday.
I've had 6 days of cycling bliss, surrounded by capable, intelligent road users, without so much as a marginally close overtake. So how come as soon as Friday comes everyone turns into zombies?

I've had 6 days of cycling bliss, surrounded by capable, intelligent road users, without so much as a marginally close overtake. So how come as soon as Friday comes everyone turns into zombies?
Just from this afternoon's 5 mile ride home:
- Coming down a steep hill at 30mph, driver at a side road waits and waits, before pulling out right in front of me
- Waiting to turn right at a major traffic-light crossroads, Mercedes coming the other way tries to go straight on from the right turn lane, so ends up stuck in the middle of the road in front of me (cue sarcastic hand-clapping)
- Driver tries to overtake me through temporary traffic lights: not smart given that immediately after the roadworks I want the right-turn lane and he wants the left
- Mum on the school run waits patiently behind me on a clear stretch of road, then chooses to overtake as I pass the only parked car on the entire street
- Scaffolding lorry suffering from mustpasscyclistosis accelerates past me over speed bumps, nearly losing half his load in the process
- Going straight-on at a roundabout, I take primary only to have another school run mum overtake and cut across to take the first exit (thankfully she had her left indicator on as she overtook so I knew what was coming)
