i paid £75 to have 2 frames bead blasted and powder coated . so i would suggest looking locally to yourself for somebody to bead blast frame and then somebody who does powder coating

As you all know I have just joined the forum and know s*** about bikes, this has caught my eye on ebay as I would like to build my own bike.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/350886638837?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2648

Or is my Carlton better, as this is a huge saving if I buy a frame already painted then I can bolt on light shiny bits, AS I LIKE SHINY ME ;)
Hi now this is just my line of thought having just read your other post (first ride) why not go for a more basic paint job on the frame you have now something like a powder coat ? The frame on ebay looks nice but at £185 ! surely the frame you have now is no worse (except the paint) if you are able to repair motor cycles then a pedal bike should be no problem for you to master ! I would just go for a simpler paint job for the time being you can always expand at a later date.

Hi Ernie,
I have OCD lol, everything has to be perfect for me, I have had people from all over Europe buy my bikes due to my attention to detail.
It will have to be right first time, Im a bloody nightmare when I build something I do my own head in

That's the best thing about building a bike I would guess. You can tinker as much as you like but till it looks right you are not going to be happy. You will feel proud when its done

I have been moaned at before for taking so long to do a simple turning task on a centre lathe. The person jumped on another lathe and completed the job a few minutes before me. It was rough, the tolerance was terrible and it looks like the jaws of the chuck damaged the part. Mine on the other hand was perfect in his point of view but I did not like the finish completely so spend another 10 minutes polishing the part.

There is no harm in having some pride in what you do :P
