In London I see more drivers on phones now then ever before.
I "thought" I did too. But actually what I think is happening is that I am now annoyed buy seeing drivers on mobiles, when a few years ago I thought nothing of it and made no mental note.

Funny how it is so socially unacceptable now ...when a short while ago we all thought nothing of it, was it less dangerous then than it is now?

Smoking in pubs.
Putting kids in cars without seatbelts.
Not picking up your dogs shoot.
Throwing gum on the floor.
...cycling on pavements.

They are all the same, we did them (or some of them)as a matter of course as youngsters and yet as we are reprogrammed within society we now see it as appalling.

Wishful thinking mode ......

When, oh when will speeding, impatience, agressive behaviour be added?

Utopia here we come, will driving a car ever be added to the list?

I'll stop there!

Hmm, I was thinking the other day how many more people I see on the mobile...

That and the number of people who appear to have weak neck muscles when in traffice queues. Well, they must have, becasue their heads droop down to look in their laps, then snap back up again to look ahead. To then repeat, and repeat etc...

And they like to think they have a "social life" too. A girl at work used to do this whilst operating the machinery, she did in the end show me some of her messages and it was the most banal s*** I've ever read. It aint high phylosophy or politics, it was stuff like "my shoes are red tonight."

WTF??

People realise the roads are essentially unpoliced apart from the odd speed camera van here and there. Prob why I spotted a truck driver on the A14 doing a crossword at the wheel to day, I kid you not.

This is probably an urban myth.....

Autostradas in Italy have a raised "rumble strip" on the edge of the hard shoulder. Truckers put their inside wheels over the rumble strip and use the noise of the tyres scraping along it as a signal to guide their steering.

Then they watch the in-cab TV......

Here in the Peterborough North area I am seeing more and more cretins using 'phones whilst driving. I even reported a driver from Fine Lady Bakeries for rounding a roundabout in front of me in his artic with his right hand crossed over holding the bloody phone to his left ear!
I could possibly forgive these people if the future survival of the human race depended on the result of their call but you know they're just discussing with their other half what to have for dinner that night or somethign equally as important

And we have two winners!!!!

One lady driver back streets of Shirley, attempting to drive out of a blind junction and steer with the mobi pressed against her right ear. The other was just a fella in a car heading the opposite way (I cant even remember where)

The lady had her window open so I shouted out a polite "come on mate, put the phone down!" Haha! She s*** herself.

Yep, I see more than ever. I used to report car drivers I saw to Roadsafe - but now I see so many I can only manage to remember the details of lorries and vans.

Oh, and one time I was on my Vespa, I followed a driver all the way from Aldgate to Stratford who was watching a DVD on a player mounted onto his dashboard. Nothing surprises me any more.

A bloke driving one of those roadsweeper things was coming towards me as I walked home tonight was on his phone. Then as he was driving uphill and round a right-hand bend he needed to change gear so he reaches to his right ear for the phone with his left hand while changing gear with his right (he was in the left hand driving posion) leaving no hands on the wheel  . I was glad to get past him I tell you.
