Who uses the Imatra cycling app that’s always on the TNT adverts?
I’ve just installed & linked to Garmin connect.
Digital currency, I have my doubts about it. Maybe you just get a slight discount when cashing in. I can’t see you buying cycling things out right.

Can you use it in the UK yet?

Even if it’s tiny savings you may as well build up the currency when you’re doing the miles anyway.

I'm not the right demographic for this sort of thing. I don't do brands, so wouldn't make much in savings. Normal clothes generally, due to riding a recumbent. Do you have to convert miles to Km?

If it tracks you automatically I find that a little uncomfortable, being someone who blocks location tracking on my phone, but as they say, if something is free, you are the product, let alone if they're actually giving you some nebulous bonus for letting them do whatever it is they do with your data. I'd read the T and Cs minutely to see what they're getting out of it.

Although not actually cryptocurrency, it feels like that sort of idea. Something for nothing. Maybe it's all perfectly legit, and you might make some savings if you do enough km, but I'd go into something like that with an expectation of doing no more than breaking even. Are they charging for having the app? That would start you off with a deficit. If it's free, see previous paragraph.

Suspicious? Distrustful? Cynical? Moi? Well, maybe.

All this going through my head. Will virtual miles on smart training count, MyWhoosh never links to Garmin anyway it’s a manual mess about job. I’ll try to do a short ride after work & see what happens.

You wouldn't even need a bike if you did that. Just take the app for a drive!

couldn't you just stick it in a car ? A 10 mile, 30mph commute everyday would soon start to rack up the miles without any pedalling required ?

I was thinking about exploitation too. Must be a system in place. If you left a good heavy duty drill on the smart trainer just steady away it wouldn’t look suspicious.
