If you're the cyclist who asked me if I was OK this morning when I came off on black ice at the junction of Southampton Row and Theobald's Road, thanks.
My own fault really: slow bus in front meant I was too close to its rear and didn't see the black patch in front, although as it was over most of the inside lane I probably wouldn't have been able to do anything had I seen it. All of a sudden the world was upside down: happily I landed on my left still clipped in, so no serious damage to the bike (front guard knackered, brand new left hand shifter knocked inwards and brakes out of alignment).
Managed to cycle another 3 miles to the office to find bruised and bloodied knee and thigh and typing this one handed due to flaming agony in left wrist.
New leg warmers, bibs and jacket will be required. Now off to trawl round people's desks to see if they have any painkillers.
A salutory lesson for cold mornings!
