In praise of...Berties

This time last week I was returning homewards with Mrs S and Doggie S and stopped of for lunch in Romsey, Hampshire. If you are ever in the area, do drop by this excellent little restaurant.

We had a delicious lunch and was very good value too.
I started with Goats Cheese Quenelles followed by local Trout. Both dishes were obviously made with good ingredients, cooked well and skilfully presented. All without being overly pretentious!
And unbeknownst to me at the time, it happens that the chef is a CC member.
(He is also a major contributor on Shaun's Foodie Forum).

Haven't seen @Berties for a while. Obviously business is good and cycling may have been relegated.

I think not. The big clue for me was seeing the prominently placed Giant road bike leaning against a chair in the large dining room, obviously recently used !!
