Not to want to jump on Dell (literally) and his band wagon but blimey, don't they have some bloody good gossip!!!

I don't know if the haircut or the gossip was worth the £30.

Shagging, affairs, who's the crappest stylist, holidays for plastic surgery, who's had the botox and fake tan. I've had it all.

Naturally, my bubble was burst when she pointed out my grey streak and advised a few highlights.

I've never seen so many botoxed up people in all my life. It was quite scarey because they all looked like the clown out of IT.

the hour I spend in the barbers is one of the most pleasurable of the week. A gentle dissection of the Big Four, and, in the last little while the prospects and progress in the African Cup of Nations (shamefully ignored by the Guardian). And it's a good haircut.

The Babe spends more time at the hairdressers than I would have thought possible. What can possibly take four hours? But......when she comes out she's so happy, so very happy. How does that work?

ah - yes, but I am a baldybloke, and four mm makes it look untidy. And I reckon the hair on my face grows a lot more than 4mm a week. But, now you've got me wondering. What's the best way to measure stubble?

You rely on others' evaluation. In my case when told "you need to trim your beard/head"

Much to my surprise, I was actually told that the beard I grew for the cold weather suited me. I kept it for about 5 weeks but it was making me look really old (there were white patches in it!) and it started to get itchy so I shaved it off a couple of days ago. Blimey, my face is feeling the cold now!

Yeah same here, although I tend to go about every 3 months, when it gets long enough to be annoying.

Mind you, went this morning and for the first time, actually chatted to the girl and enjoyed it. Normally I find the whole "going anywhere on your holidays" guff so traumatic, I'd rather just sit in silence. Today however, we managed to get on the subject of my nephew Oli, so I just chattered away boasting about him...
