Yes I have the album.. and it's really not that bad. A cracking version of Dust My broom is the best track on the album.

I take it that this isn't the current SS who always wears a long coat to hide the paunch, waves his arms around a lot in chop socky fashion and never does anything really agile?

I believe this is an 'In Praise of Steven Seagal' thread.

Anything not praising him does not belong, and would be better placed in an 'In Ridicule of Steven Seagal' thread.

I used to work with a guy called Steven Seagal...I could never mention his name in conversation (or worse still, in meetings) without at least cracking into a big grin, no matter how hard I tried. I could never quite get it out of my system.

My eldest son is interested in taking up Aikido - partly, I suspect, through having seen Steven Seagal. He is also considering Tai Chi, which I believe shares similar concepts ('soft' circular movements), but I guess it depends on what classes he can find. Is Tai Chi 'better' than Aikido ? Does anyone have any experience of either ?

Can anyone recommend a martial art, suitable for a tall & strong 15 year old ? He is not an aggressive type, so I'm not certain karate would suit him.

If you think that then you miss the whole point of learning a Martial Art.

Edit: Thinks back to the scene in The Karate Kid when they are both out on the boat..

What I really meant, is that he is quite a passive lad and I'm not sure that he'd put much effort into kicking or punching.
