Incompetent bike buyer advice needed Please

Not wanting to derail the thread but why do they not use an Ultegra chainset as well?

I have a boardman team road with 105 set up but that also uses an FSA chainset!

Just like to know why.

Cutting the spec means they can offer what outwardly appears the same bike...cheaper.
Without going too deep, an Ultegra chainset is quite a bit costlier than the Gossamer.
My current bike..a Ribble Sportive Racing was specced (by me of course) particually because i wanted to avoid a mix of components.
Nothing particually wrong with a mix, but I could buy a carbon Ribble, with full groupset and carbon bars, stem and seatpost for the same price of a Bianchi Impulso, alloy frame, with a mix of components. For me, it was a no brainer and ive not regretted it for one second.

After much fighting in my head about when the wife will say what I can afford, I have dropped the Stealth. Here are my final two at roughly the same price.

Your thoughts and I must owe you all a pint or two.

They are quite different bikes. In car parlance it's like deciding between a Z4 and 3 series estate. Why not decide whether you want a sedate or racing bike, and then compare two of the kind you want from different manufacturers?

What are you riding now, and what do you like and not like about it? What are your goals or aspirations? What kind of a rider are you, and where do you want to go with your riding.

At the moment it looks like you're itching to spend but don't know why.

You can covert bb30 to shimano with special bearing kit !
